Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning activity of 5A grade students of Muhammadiyah 8 Elementary School, Bandung, specifically in Islamic Cultural History (SKI) by using a differentiated learning approach. The main problems identified were low student participation in discussions, boredom due to monotonous lecture methods, and low understanding of the material. This study used the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research instruments included observation sheets, interview guidelines, and cognitive tests. The results indicated a significant improvement in student performance: the class average for cognitive tests rose from a baseline of 65.00 to 82.50 in Cycle I, while the classical completeness rate increased from 40% to 85%. Furthermore, the percentage of student active engagement in discussions grew from 35% to 78%. These results show that the gradual implementation of content, process, and product differentiation effectively increased student enthusiasm and learning outcomes, creating a more dynamic and inclusive environment for mastering SKI materials.
