Students’ level of understanding in the learning process has not been optimally addressed, particularly due to the limited use of instructional models that accommodate diverse learning needs and characteristics. This condition highlights the necessity of adopting innovative learning approaches that can effectively support students’ cognitive development. Therefore, this study aims to examine the role of differentiated learning models in enhancing students’ understanding. This research employs a qualitative approach using a literature study method, where data are collected from relevant academic sources, including books, journal articles, and previous research findings. The analysis is conducted through a descriptive-analytical technique to synthesize theoretical and empirical insights related to differentiated instruction. The findings indicate that differentiated learning models, through the adaptation of content, process, and product, are effective in improving students’ engagement and comprehension by addressing individual learning differences. Moreover, this approach enables students to actively construct knowledge and achieve higher levels of understanding. The implications of this study suggest that educators need to develop adaptive teaching competencies and implement flexible instructional strategies to create more inclusive and effective learning environments.
